What is PlatePrep?
PlatePrep is the modern Culinary Intellectual Property Operating System — a fully integrated, AI-powered platform that converts restaurant creativity into structured, measurable, and protected operational infrastructure. Built on two core engines — MenuSignal™ and RecipeCore™ — PlatePrep transforms how restaurant groups manage menus, recipes, inventory, labor, finances, and guest intelligence.
How is PlatePrep different from other restaurant software?
Unlike fragmented point solutions, PlatePrep is a unified operating system. Everything flows from MenuSignal™ (AI-powered menu intelligence) and RecipeCore™ (culinary IP engine). This means your menu data, recipes, inventory, labor, financials, and marketing are all connected — no duplicate entry, no disconnected tools. We convert tribal knowledge into structured, scalable assets.
Is PlatePrep available to everyone?
PlatePrep Hospitality AI is currently being released in controlled phases to a highly selective group of restaurant operators in the United States, Canada, and Europe. We deliberately limit access to ensure onboarding quality, system precision, and direct founder oversight. If you don't have an invitation code, you may request consideration pending availability.
How do I get started with PlatePrep?
Access is by invitation only during this phase. If you have an invitation code, enter it on our homepage to begin onboarding. If you don't have a code, you can request a demo or apply for consideration through our website. Our onboarding team will guide you through platform setup, menu scanning, recipe generation, and team configuration.
What types of restaurants does PlatePrep serve?
PlatePrep is designed for modern restaurant groups — from single-location operators to multi-unit enterprises. Whether you run fine dining, casual concepts, QSR, bars, catering, or hotel F&B operations, the platform adapts to your operational structure. Our plans scale from 1 location to unlimited.
What is MenuSignal™?
MenuSignal™ is our AI-Powered Menu Intelligence Engine. It scans your menu — even from a photo — and transforms it into structured data. It analyzes item pricing gaps, contribution margins, category balance, food cost structure, trend alignment, and menu positioning strategy. What was once a static list becomes measurable intelligence.
What is RecipeCore™?
RecipeCore™ is our Culinary Intellectual Property Engine. Once MenuSignal™ structures the menu, RecipeCore™ builds the foundation beneath it — automatically generating structured ingredient breakdowns, standardized prep instructions, portion control systems, costing frameworks, execution documentation, version history, and training references. Your kitchen knowledge becomes documented, repeatable, and transferable.
How does AI recipe generation work?
RecipeCore™ uses advanced AI to generate complete, production-ready recipes based on your menu items, ingredient availability, and operational parameters. Each recipe includes detailed ingredient lists, step-by-step preparation instructions, portion sizing, food cost calculations, and nutritional information. Recipes can be refined, versioned, and scaled for any service volume.
What operational modules does PlatePrep include?
Built on MenuSignal™ and RecipeCore™, the platform expands into full operational control: PrepFlow™ (prep management), StockFlow™ (inventory tracking), OrderSource™ (vendor management), ShiftSignal™ (AI scheduling), LineCommand™ (BOH communication), ServeSignal™ (integrated POS), CoverSignal™ (guest forecasting), ProfitSignal™ (financial intelligence), and more. Each module feeds into a connected operational ecosystem.
Does PlatePrep protect my culinary intellectual property?
Absolutely. PlatePrep treats your recipes, menu structures, operational processes, and culinary data as confidential intellectual property. Your culinary IP remains your exclusive property at all times. We do not sell, license, or share your proprietary data with third parties. All AI processing is performed exclusively to serve your operations.
What features are included with my subscription?
Feature availability scales with your plan. All plans include access to MenuSignal™ and RecipeCore™ AI engines, recipe management, menu intelligence, task assignments, inventory tracking, and admin dashboard access. Higher-tier plans unlock more locations, users, AI generations, template and video generations, and advanced features like priority support and dedicated account management.
Can I generate menus and templates?
Yes. PlatePrep includes template generation tools that allow you to create professional menu designs, operational documents, and marketing materials powered by your MenuSignal™ data. Template generation limits vary by plan — from 4/month on Starter to unlimited on Enterprise.
How does inventory management work?
StockFlow™ provides lightweight yet powerful inventory tracking connected directly to your recipes and menu items. Track stock levels, monitor usage patterns, set par levels, manage vendors through OrderSource™, and receive automated depletion alerts based on production and sales data. Inventory items scale from 5 on Starter to unlimited on Enterprise.
Can I manage staff scheduling and tasks?
Yes. ShiftSignal™ provides AI-driven performance scheduling, while the task management system lets you assign, track, and monitor operational tasks across your team. Task assignment limits scale with your plan. Enterprise plans include ShiftCommand™ for advanced shift handoff and ServiceReady™ for event execution tracking.
Does PlatePrep include video generation?
Yes. PlatePrep includes AI-powered video generation capabilities for creating training content, recipe demonstrations, and marketing materials. Video generation limits vary by plan — from 3/month on Starter to unlimited on Enterprise.

Yes. PlatePrep is a fully cloud-based SaaS platform — no software to install or maintain. Access your account from any device with an internet connection through our web application. Mobile-optimized interfaces ensure full functionality on tablets and smartphones for kitchen and floor use.
How secure is my data?
We implement enterprise-grade security measures including end-to-end encryption (data in transit and at rest), regular security audits and penetration testing, multi-factor authentication, strict access controls, and SOC 2-aligned practices. Your culinary IP and operational data are protected with the same rigor as financial data.
Can I export my data?
Yes. PlatePrep supports full data export in standard formats including CSV, Excel, and PDF. Export recipes, menu data, inventory lists, staff schedules, reports, and all operational data at any time. You always maintain ownership and control over your information.
Does PlatePrep integrate with other systems?
PlatePrep is designed as a unified operating system, reducing the need for external integrations. However, we offer integration capabilities with select POS systems, accounting software, payroll services, and delivery platforms through ServeSignal™. API access is available for Enterprise plans for custom integrations.
What are the system requirements?
As a cloud-based platform, PlatePrep works on any device with a modern web browser and internet connection. For optimal performance, we recommend updated versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
